Notability (Wikipedia)
Notability is Wikipedia's requirement that a subject has significant coverage in independent, reliable sources before it can have an article.
What counts
Independent, reliable coverage about the subject itself. Press releases, paid content, passing mentions and your own site do not.
In practice
Articles created without notability are deleted quickly, leaving a permanent deletion record. Press first, article later. Guide: Wikipedia's article rules.
Frequently asked questions
Do followers count?
No; independent coverage does.
