How to remove posts and comments from Reddit
On Reddit, content is first reported to the community's moderators and, for policy breaches, to Reddit itself; sharing personal information is one of the things Reddit bans most clearly.
How Reddit works
Each subreddit is run by volunteer moderators who can remove posts that break its rules. Reddit's own admins act on breaches of the site-wide content policy.
What gets removed
- Personal or confidential information used to target someone
- Non-consensual intimate media
- Harassment and threats
- Copyright and trademark infringement
Step by step
- Copy the permalinks of the post and comments.
- Use Report and pick the category.
- For personal information or harassment, also use Reddit's general report form.
- In the EU, you can file a notice of illegal content under the Digital Services Act.
- If the title still shows on Google after removal, follow the Google steps.
Frequently asked questions
Why does a deleted Reddit post still show on Google?
Google keeps an old copy for a while; the Refresh outdated content tool removes it.
