How to remove Telegram channels and messages
Telegram can remove content from public channels when reported; its reach into private chats and secret groups is very limited.
What you can do
- Public channels and groups: Report on the channel or message, with categories for violence, personal data, copyright and fake accounts.
- Copyright: email Telegram's copyright address with links and proof of rights.
- Abuse: email the abuse address for scams and impersonating channels.
- In the EU: a notice of illegal content under the Digital Services Act.
Step by step
- Copy the channel username (t.me link) and message links.
- Take screenshots; channels are deleted and reopened quickly.
- Report in-app and by email together.
- For intimate images or extortion, report to the police alongside the platform.
